Cheerleading Competition
How exactly does one broadcast a cheerleading competition? Just ask Ron Wittebols (left) and Matt Kachel. They’re just finishing up a marathon 3-hour broadcast in the Lahser High School gymnasium. Several cheerleading squads from the area participated. It was quite an event.
MAB 2002 Winners!
Congratulations to Jeff Lutz (left) and Dave Feldman (right) who both won second place awards from the Michigan Association of Broadcasters. Jeff was second in Promotional Announcement and Dave won his award in the Newscast category. Andrew Sokoly sums up the feeling of the entire staff after learning that WBFH was voted Michigan Association of Educational Broadcasters "Station of the Year" at the M.A.E.B. Honors Ceremony held at Andover’s theater. The date is April 17, 2002.
Earlier in the evening, Pete Bowers serves as Master of Ceremonies, welcoming area stations WOVI, WSDP, WSHJ and WPHS to Andover High School. Alan Almond of WNIC/Detroit was special guest speaker.

It’s an emotional moment as Pete Bowers accepts Station of the Year on behalf of his staff. Bowers goes on to thank his family, Assistant Station Manager Randy Carr and Remote Supervisor Ron Wittebols for years of support.
